Day 3 Mendocino

Waking up in our peaceful campsite among the trees was pure bliss. The sun was shining and it was shorts weather.

An off-duty lifeguard recommended a few surf spots, but we opted to explore the park instead. Salt Point State Park was stunningly beautiful, with rocky coves full of crystal clear blue water and abalone divers. We perched cliffside on a railing behind a cute little a frame visitor center and watched a couple of playful harbor seals frolic with the divers in the cove below.

After a picnic lunch in Mendocino town, we headed north towards Fort Bragg for a supply stop, then binged on some wifi in a cute coffee shop.
We made camp at Mackerricher State Park just before sunset. Annie cooked up a delicious dinner of fresh guac, spicy jalapeño tacos garnished with jack cheese, sour cream and sunflower sprouts.

LA’s wild s'mores recipe:
Cinnamon graham crackers Flame seared marshmallow Reese’s peanut butter cup
The verdict? “It’s a little busy,” LA said after his first giant, gooey bite, “but I want another one.”
